Anja Nissen is a singer from the Blue Mountains in New South Wales is the winner of Season 3 of The Voice Australia. She was also a contestant on Australia's Got Talent and made it to the semi-finals. An

18-year-old high school graduate, Anja, has been in the spotlight since she made the semi finals of Australia's Got Talent at age 12. She has enjoyed a string of televised appearances as a featured vocalist including Kerri-Ann and Schools Spectacular, and notes singing the Danish national anthem in the company of Princess Mary of Denmark as a personal highlight.

Anja found her voice at a young age on her parent’s rural property where she could sing at the top of her lungs. Here she also discovered a love for animals, nature and motorbike riding. Despite her age, she is often mistaken for more mature artists from whom she takes inspiration such as Patti Labelle, Aretha Franklin, Celine Dion and Mariah Carey.

The VoiceEdit

Anja, age 18, auditioned for The Voice with a performance of "Vanishing" by Mariah Carey, turning all four chairs. Her performance was praised by all judges, and eventually chose Will as her coach.

In the battle rounds she performed 'When Love Takes Over' with Sarah Hamad, winning the battle.

In the showdowns Anja performed 'His Eye Is on the Sparrow' and was sent through to the Live Shows.

In the first live show she sung 'I'll Be There' which resulted in Anja being placed in the bottom two. In the second live show, she performed 'Irreplaceable' and placed in the bottom two before receiving an instant save by the public. In the third show, Anja performed 'Wild' before the public placed her into the bottom one. She was instantly saved by the public and preceded onto the Grand Finale.

Anja was crowned 'The Voice Australia' after coming first.
